Sindy started a
great thread about stories of inside-the-cult fallout, the effects of GOING CLEAR and other recent events on active Scientologists, as often reported by friends or family members who are out or under the radar.
There's a story of the LA Times story Miscavige the elder being followed, being waved in front of a staff member, a guard I think, and him saying something to the effect that it's just made up by the government. This is a reaction one might expect.
His brother has left. His right-hand man/enforcer has left. His niece has left and written a book. His wife has been disappeared. His twin sister is a pothead. And now he spends a million dollars having his father followed, and doesn't care if he dies without getting assistance. And the person doing the following has worked for the cult for 9 years as a PI.
The cult is pretending David Miscavige didn't hire him, only because he didn't call him up on the phone himself, but did it through his usual layers of protection. But even the cult can't furnish an explanation or even a conspiracy theory that this PI was hired by the government, or big pharma. They probably can't do that because it wouldn't hold up in court. There is too much of a trail back to them, the underlings who hired the service to hire the PI to follow Miscavige's father.
The beauty of the story is in its simplicity: DM pays a million dollars of Church money to have his own father followed.
Tom Cruise not only doesn't want any more medals from the cult, he does not want to appear or be pictured with the dwarf either. Do they even romp and play with each other anymore? The new spokescreature has not actually spoken to the public in three years. Cult members should be reminded that these are not made-up stories. This is what is happening.
GOING CLEAR probably still has more power though, for the active members who see it, because the stories of ex-members will resonate.
