Hello to the ex's. I'm one of the Anonymous horde, and a critic. I'm here to describe actions that you can take which would assist Anonymous - actions that former scientologists are exceptionally and especially well equipped to perform.
The Goal Of These Actions
The activities descibed here will not "solve great injustices". They are unlikely to resolve in a crashingly incredible way. These are pressure tactics, intended to place more and greater pressure on the hierarchy of the Church of Scientology. They may seem undramatic and unexciting, but pressure of this kind is the meat and drink of the current effort.
Call Labour Groups
Orgs hire staff for pathetic rates, and then pressure them both socially and religiously in order to extract further labour from them. If you have a personal experience that illustrates this point, call local Labour boards, Better Business Bureaus, and the like. Call anonymously, if you would feel in any way unsafe doing otherwise. But call. Where possible, detail exact practices where staff will lose their jobs if they do not volunteer. If you have time, read over local labour regulations, and put your complaints in those terms (don't try to play lawyer unless you are one). A significant enough mass of complaints will be cause for at least a cursory investigation. It will likely only take a few investigators showing up to create some serious tension.
Call Health & Safety Boards
If at any time you worked in an Org or other installation which had unfinished construction or internal disrepair of any kind that could pose a health hazard, or where the construction itself was performed in unsafe conditions? If you have reason to believe that such practices are occuring in a local office or Org? Make calls, send emails, lodge complains. Again, only a few investigators are enough to ramp the pressure up just one more notch.
News-On-A-Platter
Many reporters, journalists, and other investigators simply don't have much time for research. If you run across something new or current that you think ought to be reported, send in a message to a few media outlets about it. Include links to a solid slice of Church material, outside (court or academic) documentation, and testimony - not just one of those things, but all of them. Practice handing reporters news stories on a platter; you'll push the media coverage through the roof.
Organise Your Stories
There are uncountable stories of abuse and pain on these boards - real ones that deserve notice and attention. It may seem like an insensitive thing to say, but these stories would often be more effective as media devices if they were organised on Blogs, in videos, in formats that are catchy to the eye, concise and sharp to read. The phenomenon of "tl;dr" (too long; didn't read) is painfully real; much of the time, it is hampering the spread of the truth - your truth.
Consider Who To Tell
You have a multitude of facts in your heads. Sharing those facts is honest, legal, and powerful - and that power is increased exponentially when those stories are placed in the hands of the people that will be astonished and driven into action. Did you see or hear something bad? Is there an agency or group that is supposed to do something about it? TELL THEM. Do not be shocked if a given, individual piece of sharing you perform vanishes without a trace, do not lose heart if the efects are slow to appear.
...In effect, what I'm telling you is that you are positioned to act as "Mavens", people who know a lot about a topic and feed the crucial bits to anyone who might act on it. If you do some or all of that? The abusive structures of the Church will crumble all the faster.
Thanks very much for your time and attention, folks.
