Three other books coming soon:

Former Apollo auditor and researcher Glenn Samuels’ book “Scientology: A Walk into Darkness” should be out within days or weeks. Might be the most revealing book of the bunch in some respects since Glenn worked hand in glove with LRH on tech lines for a number of years.

Former COS Deputy Inspector General Jesse Prince’s book is in progress (with chapters already out for review amongst his friends, so I’ve heard).

Mark Headley’s (blownforgood) Book II due in April.
On August 15, 2012, Glenn confirmed his "soon to be released book, “Scientology, A Walk into Darkness.”"

In case anyone is worried that he is a Hubbard apologist, he tells the chain locker story:
In 1975 a 12 year old boy had a crush on a girl his age, but she liked the 13 year old flute player in the Apollo Stars Band. The unrequited young boy stole the flute player’s gold plated flute that LRH had bought and threw it overboard. LRH found out about it. I was the CS for crew at the time and saw the orders. LRH sent the young boy to the chain locker. A chain locker is dark, poorly ventilated, grimy and toxic place where fouling organisms grow. (http://groups.ucanr.org/Ballast_Out...ors/Anchor_Systems_(anchor,_chain,_locker.htm) It is worse than a prison and no place for a little boy. After the first night he cried and begged for forgiveness and wanted to get out. LRH sent him a message, “You got yourself in there; you get yourself out!” After a few days he petitioned and was let out. He was sent home after the incident.

He also has a good post on Hubbard's "research" methods and the danger of the Purif: The Purification Rundown: Deaths and the Reasons Why

Bolded above is not true. On the other hand his story about the boy in the chain locker is correct.

Whoa! Yet another anti-Scn, anti-Hubbard book!

Oh well, I think Ron would like it, because. . .

BOOKS MAKE BOOMS!

Maybe that's not exactly
what he had in mind. Oooops!
Goodbye Ron.

Curious. Would like more. :confused2:

Here are some first-hand remembrances from Glenn:

FYI from his bio:
"Glenn lived and worked aboard the Flagship Apollo where he was personally trained as a counselor by Hubbard, first in 1971 then again in 1974. When the ship was sold in 1976, Scientology moved their headquarters to Clearwater, Florida. Glenn continued counseling and case supervision working with Hubbard as new procedures were introduced. Upon his appointment to the Commodore's Messenger Organization in 1980, he moved to International headquarters located in Gillman Hot Springs, California."
Also a note about the book:

"Thanks, the book is with the Ed. now. Shouldn’t be too
much longer six weeks plus or minus."

Thanks for the link to Glenn's blog and site - I didn't know it existed. I read a few of the articles and was soon presented with a conundrum: Is he pro or anti Hubbard? On one hand he has returned to auditing, and on the other he rails against Hubbard's lack of research, and Hubbard's hobby horse approach to case handling post Rhodesia.

The example he gives of the woman stuck on the ship wanting to return to shore to deal with her pending divorce and Hubbard, instead of doing the obvious, he decides she was sent to the ship to sabotage it due to his hobby horse, illness stems from evil intentions, and so sticks her in ISO, declares her, has her sec checked, wanting to know who sent her, what her evil purps were etc.

I guess the answer is he embraces a bit of both. He takes the good, and abandons what he considers unworkable. Most refreshing though is his approach, really finding out what is going on with the person and dealing with that. Not robotically running processes on a person.

I look forward to his book in any event. So thanks for the link. It is always good to have another viewpoint to consider.

From what I remember, Glen Samuels was not present when the boy was put into the chain locker. I was there and witnessed it. I also had to comfort his mother as well.

What human being could do that to a child? Only a degenerate, wicked, soulless thing, imo. How much more of this evil has to be exposed before every last sci believer gets way the hell out? Course, I know, the innies don't know about it, but what about the freezoners? Can they simply ignore the pure evil of the man and think he think gave them something worthwhile?

Imo, you can't separate the man and his products from his actions in cases like this. It's too big a leap to think that such a person could be capable of good intentions. Everyone makes mistakes, but evil of this magnitude was committed by LRH (I can barely write that name), over and over. He was permeated by wickedness.

Thank you for the information. I was not aware Glenn was in the process of writing a book. (Mark’s new book has been announced, and Jesse’s book has been rumored for some time.)

One very positive thing I’ve consistently noticed about Independent Scientologists is that they can, and do, confront. It was always amazing to me, and sad, that there was so much corporate Church of Scientology Scientologists could not confront. During my time in, I met people who took pride in not reading ANY newspapers, not watching ANY news on television, NOT going on the internet unless the site was approved or substance free, NOT reading any non-fiction books in the areas of religion, philosophy, psychology, etc. that were not by LRH, and, most importantly, not reading or receiving ANY critical or contrary information.

It is only here, in Independent Scientology, that a recommended reading list could include a book by a psychiatrist (Viktor Frankl, author of Man’s Search for Meaning) and a book by a psychologist (Martha Stout, author of The Sociopath Next Door).

FWIW, if anyone wants a preview of data likely to be set forth in Glenn’s book, his websites are:

Oh well, perhaps the comment was a bit out-gradient. Perhaps the person who submitted the comment over-estimated the level of confront of Marty, the pertinent Moderator, and/or "Independent" Scientologists.

Perhaps we have found the items which "Indenpendent" Scientologists cannot confront.

YMMV
